As of 11/12/2010 HAED has signed M.C. Escher and we are very proud to finally obtain the artwork of this much sought after artist.  Here are some examples of his work:

We are hoping to have the first charts available by the end of the year, again this is a very difficult artist to license and we hope that you enjoy our interpretations of his work to the needle.

On a personal note, the HAED Team has been working diligently on trying to make some changes to the site to allow for better sorting and finding various charts by different search types.  You will notice some gradual changes to the website over the next 6 months.

As Winter draws in we are expecting our first snow Saturday and I am very much looking forward to the white landscape which always makes the horses happy and Bob especially happy when he can finally pull out the snowmobile and take the girls for a ride.  Me?  I will be on horseback, I much prefer the quiet breaths of my stead to the loud engine that reflects the power of what I can ride without gas

There has been alot of changes on the home front here and the lives of our closest family members has been put to the test.  I have my son (who is 28) now living with us and the 3 grand babies along with our other Son (1 Grand child here but part time) who moved back home in order to make some life changes of his own.

This means that we house and feed a total of 10 people which makes for some very lively dinners and some rather stressful moments but we are delighted to have family so close and to be able to offer the help when they need it.

The lives of so many have changed in this economy and we must always know that change is good, we often are given the opportunity to analyze where we are in life and re-evaluate what is most important to us.  Change can be very scary and I am dealing with my own changes with loss of personal space each evening but that is quickly replaced with the giggles and laughter of 6 children ranging in ages from 9 months so 10 years that surround me and fill my soul and make me proud to say that I am a parent and a Grand Parent to these delightful little people.

I have been finding that it has taken me several weeks to find that peace in my soul again by doing the mundane things that I used to do, such as replacing coffee with tea to ease my nerves, gathering everyone at the dinner table at one time where possible, to allow myself to not feel guilty for stealing a moment of quiet wherever and whenever I can.  Finding that special time with our four legged friends that always buoy’s me up in a low time.

Most of all I am finding the need to allow our friends and customers (meant to be read as one in the same) a little view in the life of the people behind HAED.  Please feel free to comment with any questions that you may have and we wish everyone a fabulous weekend filled with laughter, joy and quiet moments.

For this first blog entry of 2009 i would like to share with you the recent HAED online newsletter, as i know not everyone subscribes to it.

Feb 24th Heaven and Earth Designs Online Newsletter

Hi Everyone~ It has been quite a long time since I posted a newsletter and there has been alot going on with HAED recently and we wanted to share in the exciting news.
First of all, we have been working diligently on a new line of designs that are Christmas stockings and we will be featuring the Christmas artwork of Donna Gelsinger, Scott Gustafson, Ruth Sanderson and several others. These designs will be in the shape of a stocking and will feature some of our most popular Christmas designs. The average size of these stockings will be approximately 16 inches long and 13 inches wide. We are currently working on a group of 6 and should have the first releases out by May/June 09. Stay tuned for some sneak peeks as we get more of the charting completed.
In April, we will be featuring the artwork of Lisa Steinke and wait until you see her new artwork, gorgeous! This program allows you the stitcher to understand a little more about what goes on behind the scenes of the artist and what inspires them etc.
We will also be setting chat sessions that are limited to 25 people but there will be 4 sessions to that everyone has an opportunity to join in and so that we can meet the needs of everyone globally. We have tried this in the past with some success and there will be some very clear guidelines posted to help things run a little smoother.
Some exciting new releases are in the works and first up is 2 new Kinuko Craft designs (The Bell at Sealy Head and Scent of Magic) which are scheduled for release mid March and mid April. Jane Wooster Scott is next up with quite a few that we are working on as well.
Some of you have been wondering about the future releases of the Filigree series and we will be releasing Dutch Filigree by February 27th 2009 and then shortly after that will be Grecian Filigree and we are very excited about these new releases. Michele has been charting Dutch pretty much non stop the past week or so.
We are also working on new Peek-A-Boo’s and Tiny Treasures and that pretty much fills up our plates.
We hope that everyone is staying warm and we are indeed looking forward to the warming of the air and color green after these long Winter Months.

New Artists

Heaven and Earth Designs would like to welcome 2 new artists to the HAED community
Carmen Keys and Jane Wooster Scott.

Carmen is a free lance fantasy artist and childrens’s illustrator who paints  watercolor and acrylic Fairies, Mermaids, Angels, Christian fantasy, Children’s Illustrations, Cats and whimsical Animal art. You can see a full range of her art and her biography at her website The Fantasy Art of Carmen Keys . Currently on the HAED website there are six pieces of her beautiful art charted all of which can be seen HERE and i am sure we will see more of her art charted in the future

Jane Wooster Scott paints amazing scenes from the American Experience, her work is colourful and full of detail you can read about her artwork on her Website . Currently on the HAED website there are 4 beautiful pieces available which can be seen HERE , i know there are already stitchers eagerly awaiting more releases

Things got a bit hectic at Heaven and Earth Designs !
Most Haed stitchers would be aware by now that Michele, Bob and the girls home took a direct hit from a Tornado a few weeks ago and have been working hard to clear all the debris from their damaged home, and destroyed barn, fences and trees etc, whilst trying to come to terms with the devastation such a traumatic occurance  causes. It will be a while before things are back to normal and as a consequence things have been a bit quiet on the Website as far as releases and image updates etc however rest assured it is business as usual ..

LE Tornado Fund Chart release

With the kindness of Ching Chou Kuik she has offered Flow Followers to us to chart for raising funds for Tornado relief. We are faced with numerous expenses that are far above and beyond what we are capable of coming up with. We are hoping that everyone likes this and all proceeds will go to debris removal, tree stumping and perhaps a good ol fashioned barn raising.

Our girls are devastated with the loss of the horses and we are hoping to at least provide them with some sort of comfort with the promise of a barn in the future and having their horses back.

The chart will be available for purchase on the site today and it will be emailed rather than download so that we can personally thank everyone for their purchase. The chart will be a limited edition and will not be offered in the regular catalog and will be available for a 2 week period only. We greatly appreciate everyone’s kind responses and numerous emails and we are hanging in there.
